Gloria Cardenas always had a deep passion for helping people achieve the American Dream. It is in her blood. Her father, the Honorable Raymond Cardenas, was one of the first Mexican American judges in the State of California and a founding member of Mexican American Bar Association. Her mother is an immigrant from England, who was orphaned during World War II and migrated to the United States for a better life. Ms. Cardenas earned her JD from the University of California, Hastings College of Law in 1990 and her B.A. in Political Science from the University of California at Los Angeles. She has been an active member of the California State Bar since 1991.
For more than two decades, she has brought her vast knowledge and passion for immigration law to Salt Lake City. Over the years, she has successfully represented for than 1,000 immigrants in the United States. Ms. Cardenas has represented clients before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), the Executive Office of Immigration Review in Utah and California (Immigration Courts), the Superior Court in California, the United States District Courts, the California Appellate Courts, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Ms. Cardenas is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, Salt Lake City Chapter, the Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and was an independent member of the Utah Latino Legislative Task Force. When she isn’t practicing immigration law in Salt Lake City, she is talking about it on her radio show from 10-11 am on Friday La Gran D 102.3 FM.
A graduate of the University of Utah, Abby L. Van Sice brings more than 16 years of Employment Based Immigration in Salt Lake City. Over the years, she has provided immigration for Barrick Gold, Rio Tinto, Boart Longyear, Software Technology Group, Waterford Institute, Dyno Nobel, Dynatec Drilling, NPS Pharmaceuticals and many other reputable companies. As an immigration expert, Van Sice has worked with entry level employees, degreed professionals to chief executive officers in their unique and often complex immigration filings. In this period, she has managed over 400 plus cases from initial work authorizations and change of status up to and including naturalization. She is currently the Senior Manager of Global Mobility and Immigration Strategy, Familia America Immigration Law Group. Abby continues to utilize her progressive and diverse immigration experience for each immigration case. Ms. Van Sice plays a role as a key advisor on immigration cases, business development, office management, client billings and quality control for the Familia America call center team.
