Salt Lake City Deportation Process and Bail Lawyer

It is scary enough to know that you or a beloved family member might be removed from the country against your will, but this terror is made much worse when you don't understand the process. The confusion and anxiety that many immigrants face with the deportation process is terrible. If you are in this situation, you need a legal team that understands the law and understands the turmoil that you are going through — a legal team that feels like family.

We understand the importance of family and the fear of losing a family to deportation. When you come inside our law firm office, we want you to feel like family, knowing that our family will help you understand the process of deportation and removal and will fight for you every step of the way to keep your family together.

Although most of our clients are from Utah, a large number of our clients are people who have been transferred to the Utah County Jail in Spanish Fork from Las Vegas, Nevada, and the Boise/Blackfoot, Idaho, area, as well as travelers from anywhere in the country awaiting appearance before an immigration judge or waiting for removal. Contact us. We want to help you.

The removal process (often called the "deportation process") is a little bit different for every individual, but there are some things that are common to many deportation situations:

  • Investigation: Immigration investigation often begins with an arrest and criminal charges, or other circumstances that raise the suspicions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. After the suspect serves, all mandatory incarceration time for any criminal convictions, ICE will take the suspect into custody. We provide exceptional immigration criminal defense representation. We will defend you against criminal charges without jeopardizing your immigration status, or fight for post-conviction relief if you have been convicted of a crime without proper instruction on its impact on immigration.
  • Appearance before an immigration judge: When someone is suspected of being deportable, the government will send the suspect a "Notice to Appear" before an immigration judge. It is important to attend the appearance before the judge, and it is helpful to have a lawyer there with you. The judge will then determine whether or not the suspect is deportable. We can represent you at this hearing to help convince the judge to not label you as deportable.
  • Appeal: If the immigration judge does label you as deportable, we can still appeal the case by applying for "Relief from Removal."

Immigration Bail Bonds

If you have been taken into custody and incarcerated, you will have to wait in the jail until your case is heard — unless you get bail. Bail is when someone in a detention facility is allowed to go free with the promise that he or she will return at a specified point in the future. We help our clients get the resources that are needed to post bail so they can leave the immigration jail and see their families while waiting for the appearance before the immigration judge.
